Rule No. 1
Past Indefinite Tense

Subject + Verb 2nd + Object

Examples:

In Affirmative sentences

1. A child wanted new toys.
2. He wanted to study literature.
3. She played tennis.

In Negative sentences
Subject+ did not + 1st Verb + Object

4. A child did not want new toys.
5. He did not want to study literature.
6. She did not play tennis.

In Interrogative sentences
Did + subject+ 1st form of the Verb+ Object?

7. Did a child want new toys?
8. Did he want to study literature?
9. Did she play tennis?

In Negative Interrogative sentences,
Did + subject+ 1st form of the Verb+ Object?

10. Did a child not want new toys?
11. Did he not want to study literature?
12. Did she not play tennis?
